Aniha Brar

Dean, Young India Fellowship and Vice Chancellor’s Office Ashoka University

Aniha Brar is currently Dean of the Young India Fellowship and Vice Chancellor’s Office at Ashoka University. She was part of the founding team of the Young India Fellowship (YIF), and has also taught Critical Writing courses at the programme. She has had oversight of the curriculum, student engagement, admissions and outreach for the YIF. Over the years, she has also served on various central University committees dealing with student and staff concerns

In a career that has spanned diverse organisations and domains, Aniha specialises in education and communication, and has been a part of several organisations in the education and media industries. Prior to joining Ashoka, Aniha has been associated with various organisations, including ESPN, Sony Entertainment Television, Synergy Adlabs and 9.9 Media. She has vast experience in multimedia projects that include covering live events, producing television shows, writing and editing. She has been been faculty at Harappa Education and conducted multiple workshops on professional communication.

In 2021, Aniha was recognised by the Vedica Women’s Alliance (V-WA50) and won the award for ‘exemplary leadership in academia’.

Aniha holds an undergraduate degree in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College (Delhi University) and a Master's Degree in Mass Communication from the Mass Communication Research Centre (Jamia Millia Islamia).
